Leonardo DiCaprio shocked fans by confessing that he has never rewatched the biggest blockbuster from his 35-year acting career, Titanic.
The 51-year-old Oscar winner memorably portrayed starving artist Jack Dawson in James Cameron‘s 1997 romantic disaster epic, which amassed $2.264 billion from a $200 million budget and won 11 Academy Awards.
When quizzed by Jennifer Lawrence for Variety’s Actors on Actors on Wednesday about whether he had ever ‘rewatched Titanic’, DiCaprio responded: ‘No, I haven’t seen it in forever’.
The 35-year-old Oscar winner shot back: ‘Oh, you should. I bet you could watch it as a movie now, it’s so good!’
Seeming to confirm he has never watched the three hour epic also starring Kate Winslet, DiCaprio added: ‘I don’t really watch my films, do you?’
Lawrence quipped: ‘No. I’ve never made something like Titanic, if I did I would watch it. Once I was really drunk, I put on American Hustle. I was like, “I wonder if I’m good at acting?” I put it on, and I don’t remember what the answer is.’

Lawrence then grilled the habitual modelizer about the time over 50 members of the Titanic cast and crew – including director James Cameron and actor Bill Paxton – were poisoned with PCP-laced lobster chowder in 1996.
‘There was a conga line that formed and people were dancing. Well, and a lot people went to the hospital. Well, they thought that it was a neurotoxin from the chowder. Why did somebody dose everyone and why would they waste drugs?’ the Die My Love actress marveled.
DiCaprio replied that he ‘wasn’t there’ and neither was Kate Winslet since they didn’t film any scenes in Canada where Cameron shot the 1996-set scenes.
Lawrence and the Appian Way Productions founder famously headlined Netflix’s Don’t Look Up in 2021, and they’re reuniting for Martin Scorsese’s horror film What Happens at Night about an American couple adopting a European baby.

Apple Original Films is in talks to finance and produce the big-screen adaptation of Peter Cameron’s 2023 ghost story novel with Studiocanal – according to Deadline.
‘Are you really excited to work with me again?’ Lawrence asked, and DiCaprio replied: ‘Yes, I am.’
The vaping environmentalist also urged Lawrence to ‘buy a DVD player’ so she can watch all the reference films the 83-year-old filmmaker would inevitably be providing for research.
For his role as washed-up revolutionary Bob Ferguson in One Battle After Another, DiCaprio is nominated for a Critics Choice Award (airing January 4 on E!) and a Golden Globe Award (airing January 11 on CBS).
Paul Thomas Anderson’s $175 million-budget modern adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 postmodern novel Vineland also starred Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti.
Meanwhile, Lawrence is nominated for a Golden Globe Award (airing January 11 on CBS) for her role as postpartum-depressed mother Grace in Die My Love.
